Sampling: charged per style, credited against the first order, 3–5 days
Sampling typically takes 3–5 days after you confirm the brief and the artwork, is charged per style, and the fee is credited against your first bulk order. Four facts, and the clock question is the one buyers get wrong.
- 3–5 daysAfter the brief and the artwork are confirmed
- Per styleThe unit the fee is charged on
- CreditedAgainst your first bulk order
- One working dayTo the fee for your style and the next step
1. The fee, and what it follows
Sampling is charged per style. The amount is not published on this site: it is quoted with your quotation, per style, so the number you see is the number for your own brief rather than a catalogue figure.
The fee follows the construction, which is why a per-style number is the only honest one: yarn and composition, needle count, colour count and the artwork you send all move it, exactly as they move the bulk costing on the same style. Two styles from the same buyer can come back at two fees, and each one is quoted on its own line.
Courier freight for the sample sits with the buyer. We hand the parcel to the carrier with the paperwork your courier account needs, or we book against your account if you prefer.
Sample-fee currency and payment rail follow the proforma invoice, the same as every other commercial term on this site.
2. Credited against the first order
The sampling fee is credited against your first bulk order. A sample is therefore a step in an order, not a product we sell: pay for the sample, and the cost comes back off the bulk invoice when the order runs.
- Charged per style, not per piece
- Quoted with your quotation, never from a price list
- Credited against the first bulk order
- Courier freight sits with the buyer
3. When the clock starts
Sampling typically takes 3–5 days after you confirm the brief and the artwork. The clock starts at confirmation, not at first contact: artwork that is still moving means the sample has not started yet.
That single sentence explains most of the schedule arguments in this trade. A buyer who sends a logo file after five days of email has moved their own start date by five days, and nothing on the floor changed.
Bulk follows the sample: 20–30 days after the deposit is received and the sample is approved. Both, not either — that is the calendar the whole order runs on.
4. How to start
Send the brief through the enquiry form or write to sales@sockwholesalers.com with the style, the quantity you are planning and your artwork. The export desk replies within one working day with the sampling fee for your style and the next step.
Two lines are enough to start, and artwork cannot be attached to the form: paste a link, or send the files in the reply.
What you approve and what it binds: sample. The clause in full: sample policy.
