Questions buyers actually send us

Twenty-two questions our export desk answers most often, grouped by what they are about.

Five of them are answered on the home page as well; this page is the full set. Every answer ends with the page that carries the detail, so you can check a claim rather than take our word for it.

Section 1 of 6

Product and customization

4 answers in this group
Do you do private label and custom packaging?

Yes. Private label is the normal case here, not an upgrade. Send your artwork and we send back a packaging proof before the run starts so nothing gets printed on a guess. The styles we already publish show how a private-label specification sheet reads: styles in the first catalog.

Which materials can you knit in?

Cotton, bamboo, merino and recycled yarns are the standard range on this floor, and we quote blends per style. The right yarn depends on end use and market, so we confirm the exact composition — and what it does to price — on your quotation. The four families are described in the materials section.

What sock types can you knit?

Six entries, not six product trees: sport, yoga, men's, children's, compression and ballet. Foot size, gender and sock length are filters on the same enquiry, so the same sock never lives at several web addresses. How the catalog is organized.

Can you match a sock I already sell?

Usually, yes — and a photo is enough to start. Send a picture of the sock and we tell you whether our machines hold that construction, and what it would cost, in the same reply. Send the photo with your brief.

Price and payment terms

3 answers in this group
How much do custom socks cost?

We quote per specification, not from a price list: send the brief and you get a reference range, the trade term it sits on, and the sample lead time within one working day. The binding price is the one on the proforma invoice issued against your confirmed specification. How quoting works.

Which trade terms do you quote?

We quote the best term for your market — EXW, FOB, DDP or DAP (Incoterms® 2020) — and confirm it with your quotation. Which costs and steps sit on which side follows the term you are quoted on, and the binding price is the one on the proforma invoice. The terms table on the quote page.

How do I pay, and how do I know the payment is safe?

We never change bank details mid-order. Payment runs through the entity named on your quotation and proforma invoice. If a message says otherwise, treat it as fraudulent until proven otherwise and verify through the number on this site, never by replying to the email.

What a price actually turns on, in the four lines the desk quotes on: 1,000 pairs per style is the MOQ a bulk price is built on; sampling is charged per style and credited against the bulk order, with you covering the courier freight; a deposit books the production slot and the balance settles against the shipment on the payment terms of your proforma invoice; and the trade term — EXW, FOB, DAP or DDP — decides where cost and risk change hands. There is no published price list behind the range, because two styles at the same quantity can differ in yarn, needle count and packing. These trade terms are defined in the glossary.

MOQ and sampling

4 answers in this group
What is your MOQ?

1,000 pairs per style for bulk orders — a starting point for negotiation, not a fixed floor. Your quotation confirms it for your exact construction before you commit. The number comes back with your reference range, the trade term it sits on and the sample lead time, in the same reply. Where it sits in the process.

How long does a sample take, and what does it cost?

Sampling is charged per style; the sampling fee is credited against the bulk order; we quote the fee with your quotation, and you cover the courier freight. Sampling typically takes 3–5 days after you confirm the brief and artwork. You approve a physical sample, and bulk then runs to that sample. The sample stage in detail.

What should my first message contain?

End use, the material you have in mind, a rough quantity and the market you sell into. A photo of a sock you already sell shortens the first round more than anything else. Color count, size breakdown and packing come next; none of them need to block the first email. The brief form.

Are my designs and artwork confidential?

Yes. Artwork, designs, specs and samples you send us are used only to cost and produce your order, are not shown to other customers, and are not published; trademarks you authorise us to use are used only to the extent of your written instruction. The full clause is in our terms of use.

Lead times and logistics

3 answers in this group
How long does bulk production take?

Typically 20–30 days after we receive the deposit and you approve the sample. We book the production slot, then knitting, toe linking, boarding, checks and packing follow. The binding lead time is the one on your proforma invoice; the figures here are for planning. From brief to carton.

How long does shipping take?

Transit depends on the mode: approx. 25–40 days sea freight, approx. 5–10 days air freight, approx. 3–7 days express, depending on destination. We book the freight and prepare the invoice and packing list, then send you the tracking once the order moves. Shipping and documents stage.

Which shipping documents do you provide?

We book the freight and prepare the commercial invoice, packing list and any certificate of origin, and send you the tracking once the order moves. Which costs and steps sit on which side follows the trade term quoted on your proforma invoice. The shipping stage.

Section 5 of 6

Quality and certification

5 answers in this group
Are you a factory or a trading company?

Both, and we would rather you knew which half you are talking to. Production runs on our own floor. Quoting, sampling follow-up, freight and documents run through our export desk. Contract and payment run through the entity named on your quotation and proforma invoice. Who does what.

Which certificates can you send me?

BSCI 26-0419962 and SEDEX (SMETA) ZAA600215648: our knitting company, Zhuji Qingsheng Knitting Co.,Ltd., holds both, and we publish their numbers, holders and dates on this site. Ask for the PDFs and we send the files, so your team reads the source documents. The certificate page.

Can I inspect the goods before shipment?

Yes. Checks run during production and again before the cartons close. Book the pre-shipment check as a video call, or send SGS, BV, TUV or your own inspector — they get floor access and the records they ask for, and the inspector you commission reports to you, not to us. The inspection stage.

Can I see the factory without flying to China?

Yes. Book a live video call and walk the floor with us. Write “walkthrough” in the form with two time windows that suit you, and we confirm a slot back within one working day. You choose the route and we hold the camera, and you can record it for your team. How the walkthrough works.

Are the product and factory photos on this site real?

Yes. Factory and workshop photographs were taken in our own facility in Datang, Zhuji — reverse-image search them and they land on this site, not a stock library. Style-page photography is ours; where a style page has no photos yet, we say so rather than substitute stock images. Photo disclaimer.

After-sales and reorders

3 answers in this group
Who do I contact once my order is running?

The same export desk, from first brief to the cartons closing: sales@sockwholesalers.com, answered within one working day. Each stage has a named owner on our side, so you always know whether the desk or the floor is holding your order. Contact details.

What if the bulk does not match the sample I approved?

If anything does not match, write to the export desk with your order number. Bulk runs to the sample you approved, and a signed copy stays on file against your order number — that sample is the binding reference. Where the checkpoints sit. How a claim runs, and who carries the cost.

Can I reorder the same style later?

Yes. Your approved sample and specification sheet stay on file against your order number, so a reorder starts from the locked spec — send the order number, the quantity and any timing. Bulk then typically takes 20–30 days after deposit. Start a reorder brief.
