Wholesale terms
The four terms you ask about before anything else: the minimum, the freight, the lead time, and what happens when a run does not match. One page, plain text, nothing behind a form.
- 1,000 pairsMinimum order per style
- 3–5 daysSampling, after you confirm the brief and artwork
- 20–30 daysBulk production, after deposit received and sample approved
- 30 daysTo raise it in writing, with your order number
These four are the figures the rest of the site quotes. The 3–5 days sits on the sample policy page, the 30-day window on returns and after-sales, and the same four rows are in the route table on the quote page. Where a page states one of them, this is the page it is stated from, and each figure above links to the clause that sets it out.
1. Minimum order: 1,000 pairs per style
The minimum is 1,000 pairs per style. One style can split across sizes; the count that matters is pairs per style, not per size. The 1,000-pair minimum is what lets a factory of our size knit, link, board and pack your order on its own floor without batching you into somebody else's run.
An order that carries several styles under one brief is the distributor case; how that brief is handled is written out on Importer and distributor sock supply.
2. Freight
We book the freight and prepare the invoice and packing list, then send you the tracking once the order moves. Transit depends on the mode: approx. 25–40 days sea freight, approx. 5–10 days air freight, approx. 3–7 days express, depending on destination.
Freight cost is quoted per order and follows your quotation; sample couriers are the one exception — sample courier freight sits with the buyer, on the sample policy page.
Before freight can be quoted the cartons have to be counted, and Sock Shipping Volume per Carton works that figure out from four measurements of one closed carton.
3. Lead times
Sampling typically takes 3–5 days after you confirm the brief and artwork. Bulk production runs 20–30 days after the deposit is received and the sample is approved. Sea transit adds its own window on top; the mode splits are in the freight section above.
Lead times on this site are typical figures for planning, not guarantees. The binding lead time is the one stated on your proforma invoice.
4. Returns and claims
Bulk runs to the sample you approved, and that signed sample is the binding reference. When a bulk run does not match it: raise it in writing within 30 days of arrival with your order number and photographs or an inspector's report; a repair or remake comes first, and where the fault is ours we carry the cost of putting it right. The full procedure — the window, the evidence, who carries which freight, and what we record — lives on the returns and after-sales page.
5. Pricing moves with quantity
Pricing is quoted per style, and it moves with the order: larger runs price differently from pilot-sized ones. We do not publish a price ladder — the unit price that matters is the one costed for your own quantity, artwork and specification, and it arrives with your quotation. Send the brief through the enquiry form and the desk costs it within one working day.
Where the quantity lands is stated against the same bands the enquiry form offers, per style: under 1,000 pairs, 1,000–4,999 pairs, 5,000–19,999 pairs, and 20,000+ pairs. A range is costed for the band you name, so the same style sent through in two different bands comes back as two different ranges, and those two replies are the comparison worth making.
The size of the step between two bands is not published, and no percentage off for volume is published either: the step is not a flat discount, because yarn, needle count, colour count and packing change with the order as well as the quantity does. That is the reason the number is costed per specification rather than read off a table, and the reason a figure quoted here would be wrong for your own brief.
6. Trade terms, duty, and how a quotation stands
The commercial frame the other five sections sit inside: the Incoterm the price is quoted on, how duty is treated, what a quantity below the minimum does, and which document carries the binding numbers.
Trade terms. We quote the best term for your market (EXW, FOB, DDP or DAP, Incoterms® 2020) and confirm it with your quotation.
US-bound. DDP or DAP, with the duty treatment confirmed on your quotation.
EU-bound. DAP or DDP, with the value on your quotation.
Below the minimum. Whether a lower quantity is workable depends on the construction and is settled per enquiry. Where a run below the minimum is not workable, the sample route is the standing alternative.
Quote validity. The binding price is the one on the proforma invoice; ranges on this site are indications, not offers. The proforma invoice also carries the validity dates, the currency and how this trade term treats duty. The same goes for the lead time: the binding one is the one stated there, not the typical figure above.
