Sample policy
Six things a buyer needs before asking for a sample: what it costs, what the fee does, who carries the courier, how long it takes, what you approve, and how to start. On one page, so nobody has to ask twice.
- 3–5 daysSampling, after you confirm the brief and the artwork
- One working dayFor the export desk to reply with the sampling fee for your style and the next step
1. The fee is charged per style
Sampling is charged per style. The amount is not published on this site: it is quoted with your quotation, per style, so the number you see is the number for your own brief rather than a catalogue figure.
The fee follows the construction, which is why a per-style number is the only honest one: yarn and composition, needle count, colour count and the artwork you send all move it, exactly as they move the bulk costing on the same style. Two styles from the same buyer can therefore come back at two fees, and each one is quoted on its own line.
Sample-fee currency and payment rail follow the proforma invoice, the same as every other commercial term on this site.
2. The fee is credited against your first bulk order
The sampling fee is credited against your first bulk order. A sample is therefore a step in an order, not a product we sell: pay for the sample, and the cost comes back off the bulk invoice when the order runs.
3. You cover the courier freight
Courier freight for the sample sits with the buyer. We hand the parcel to the carrier with the paperwork your courier account needs, or we book against your account if you prefer.
4. Timing: 3–5 days after brief and artwork
Sampling typically takes 3–5 days after you confirm the brief and the artwork. The clock starts at confirmation, not at first contact: artwork that is still moving means the sample has not started yet.
5. What you approve
You approve a physical sample. Bulk then runs to that sample, and a signed copy stays on file against your order number — it is the binding reference the bulk run is judged against, and the baseline the returns policy works from.
6. How to start
Send the brief through the enquiry form or write to sales@sockwholesalers.com with the style, the quantity you are planning and your artwork. The export desk replies within one working day with the sampling fee for your style and the next step.
Questions about what happens after the sample is approved: the wholesale terms page carries MOQ, freight and lead time, and the returns page carries what happens when a bulk run does not match.
