Order terms · the minimum

Minimum order: 1,000 pairs a style, and how it lands on each kind of order

The minimum order is 1,000 pairs per style. It is the same number on every page that quotes it, and it lands differently on a bulk order, a brief that carries several styles, a repeat, and the sample route that sits below it.

1. The clause

The minimum is 1,000 pairs per style. One style can split across sizes; the count that matters is pairs per style, not per size. The 1,000-pair minimum is what lets a factory of our size knit, link, board and pack your order on its own floor without batching you into somebody else’s run.

That is the clause as the wholesale terms page publishes it, and it is the same figure as the MOQ the rest of the site quotes. It is a starting point for negotiation, not a fixed floor, and it is confirmed on your quotation for your exact construction.

2. By order type

The same floor lands four different ways depending on what you are ordering. This is that matrix, in the site’s own terms:

Order typeWhat appliesWhere it is written
Bulk order, one style1,000 pairs per style; sizes may split inside itWholesale terms, section 1
Brief with several stylesThe distributor case; handled per brief rather than per style countImporter and distributor sock supply
Repeat of an approved styleUsually not below 1,000 pairs per style — the bulk minimum still appliesSocks reorder lead time
Sample onlyCharged per style, quoted with your quotation, and credited against the first bulk orderSample policy

Read the second row carefully if you buy a range rather than a style: a brief that carries several styles is a different case, and it is a conversation the desk has on the brief rather than a multiplication of the minimum.

3. A brief with several styles

An order that carries several styles under one brief is the distributor case; how that brief is handled is written out on Importer and distributor sock supply. The minimum does not disappear in that case, but the unit that is counted is the style, and the brief is where the count is agreed.

Two things settle before the price: which pairs-per-style figure applies, and whether any style in the brief falls below it. Both are answered in writing with the costing — not after the deposit.

4. The one route below it

Whether a lower quantity is workable depends on the construction and is settled per enquiry. Where a run below the minimum is not workable, the sample route is the standing alternative: you order the sock, not the run.

  1. 01Ask, do not assume. Put the quantity you actually want in the brief. A lower quantity goes to the desk as a question rather than as a promise.
  2. 02Get the answer with the costing. The reply says whether the construction is workable below 1,000 per style, and the figure arrives with the reference range.
  3. 03Or take the sample route. Sampling is charged per style, the fee is credited against your first bulk order, and you cover the courier freight.

The word itself, and where a lower quantity is refused outright: no minimum order. The count basis: MOQ.

Put the quantity you want in the brief

Whether it clears the minimum, sits below it, or belongs on the sample route is answered with the costing — within one working day, in writing.
