Private label socks: what you can put your name on, and what is sampled first
A private label programme stands or falls on three things: whether the mark lands where you drew it, whether the colour matches the reference you sent, and whether the sample you approved is the thing that gets knitted. This page sets out how each of those is fixed here, and which parts of the programme are printed on this site and which travel on your quotation.
Nothing on this page is a mock-up. The photographs are styles we knit, and each one links to its own specification sheet so you can read the construction before you brief the artwork.
Minimum, colour count and sample, on the first screen
A private label buyer opens with the same three questions every time: how many pairs, how many colours, and what has to be approved before the run. Two of those are printed here and the third is set against your own artwork.
- Order size
- 1,000 pairs per style
- Sample
- 3–5 days
- Bulk lead time
- 20–30 days
- Shipping transit
- 25–40 days
The bulk minimum is 1,000 pairs per style, counted per style and not per order, so a two-colourway launch is two production runs. Colour count per design is not a published figure: it is a quoted line, set from the artwork you send, together with placement and whether the mark is knitted in or embroidered — the same artwork decides what the price does. The sample is charged per style and credited against your first bulk order, with the courier on you, and the approved sample is what the bulk run is knitted against.
Six decisions that make or break a private label run
The card order follows the way a brand builds a programme: the mark, the pattern, the label, the fit, the sample, the repeat.
The cuff is the default place for your mark
Logo placement on this site is specified as cuff, with the body and the sole available for a second mark. A knitted-in cuff mark is part of the sock rather than a print that lifts after ten washes.
Where it applies: Club and brand cuff marks, rib-cuff logos.
You decide: Placement and size of the mark, and whether it is knitted in or embroidered.
Evidence: the logo-placement field on a style sheet — see the specification sheet for this style.
Jacquard patterns are knitted, not printed
Patterns are knitted by the machine that makes the sock, so there is no print layer to crack and no applique to lift. Colour count, repeat position and whether the pattern wraps the sock or stops at the cuff are the decisions that move the price.
Where it applies: Brand patterns, club colours, patterned retail basics.
You decide: Colour count and where the repeat sits.
Evidence: the pattern field on a style sheet — see the specification sheet for this style.
Labels and header cards are part of the brief
Size and care label artwork, the header card and the printed box are specified with the sock rather than sourced separately, because a brand’s packaging is where the resale price is defended. Each element is confirmed on the proforma invoice as a packing line.
Where it applies: Retail-ready packs, gifting, marketplace listings.
You decide: Which elements carry your mark: sock, label, header card, box.
Evidence: the packing fields on a style sheet — see the specification sheet for this style.

Your brand decisions, and the lines they move
A private label quotation is a specification, not a price. This table shows which of your decisions is published on this site and which of them we will only set against your own artwork.
Private label programme terms. Published lines are printed on this site; quoted lines are settled per style on your proforma invoice.
| Item | What we publish | How your own order sets it | Where it is published |
|---|---|---|---|
| QuotedCuff logo | Logo placement on the rib cuff is the placement our own sheets specify. | Mark size, colour count and knit-versus-embroidery are set from your artwork. | Logo-placement field on the style sheet. |
| QuotedJacquard pattern | Pattern is knitted in on the machine that makes the sock. | Colour count per round, repeat position and wrap are per style. | Pattern field on the style sheet. |
| QuotedLabels and header card | Size and care label artwork, header card, OPP bag, printed box. | Each element is confirmed as a packing line on the proforma invoice. | Packing fields on the style sheet. |
| PublishedSize range | Made to your chart; typically XS–XXL on request. | The chart you sell against is the one we knit to. | Specification sheet, size range. |
| PublishedSample | Typically 3–5 days after the brief and artwork; charged per style, credited against the first bulk order; courier on you. | One charged sample per style; further rounds are new charges. | Quote page, terms card, buyer FAQ. |
| PublishedOrder size | 1,000 pairs per style for bulk orders. | Per style, so a two-colourway launch is two runs. | Quote page and every product page. |
| PublishedBulk lead time | Typically 20–30 days after deposit received and sample approved. | Counted from deposit and sample approval. | Quote page and buyer FAQ. |
| QuotedColour matching | Colour is bought to a dye lot locked per order. | The physical reference you send is what the lot is matched against. | How-we-make-it line on each style sheet. |
The line to interrogate is the colour match. Any supplier who will not ask you for a physical reference is telling you what their second run will look like.

The size chart is yours, and it is knitted to
Size ranges are made to your chart, typically XS–XXL on request. A brand that sells a fitted sock should send the chart it sells against, because a scaled-up adult chart and a purpose-built one are not the same garment.
Where it applies: Fitted programmes, women’s and children’s ranges.
You decide: The size break, the foot length behind each size, and the grade between them.
Evidence: the size-range field on a style sheet — see the specification sheet for this style.
Colour is matched to a physical reference
Colour is not matched to a screen. It is matched to the reference you send — a swatch, a yarn card or an approved sample — and then locked to a dye lot per order, which is the mechanism that keeps a second run on the same colour as the first.
Where it applies: Brand colour systems, seasonal palettes.
You decide: The reference itself, and how many colourways the first run carries.
Evidence: the dye-lot line in how we make a style — see the specification sheet for this style.
One charged sample before the bulk run
The sample is a charged physical piece per style, typically 3–5 days after your brief and artwork, and the fee is credited against your first bulk order. Nothing goes into a bulk run on a rendering: the approved sample is the reference the floor works to.
Where it applies: First programmes, new constructions, rebrands.
You decide: How many styles to sample, and who signs the sample off.
Evidence: the sampling line on this site — see the specification sheet for this style.
Styles from the catalog for this buyer
Both are current listings on this floor, and both are quoted on the terms in the table above. Each card opens the style’s own page.
What we can do for your brand, and the limits behind it
A brand should know the boundaries before the artwork is drawn, not after — so the list of what we can do comes first and the boundaries follow it.
What we can do on a private label run
- Your mark, knitted into the cuff. The cuff is the placement our own sheets specify, with the body and the sole available for a second mark. A knitted-in mark is part of the sock, not a print.
- Jacquard patterns knitted in. The pattern is made by the machine that makes the sock, so there is no print layer to crack and no applique to lift.
- Labels, header cards and printed boxes. Size and care label artwork, the header card and the box are specified with the sock and confirmed as packing lines on the proforma invoice.
- Your size chart, knitted to. Made to your chart, typically XS–XXL on request, so the chart you sell against is the chart we knit to.
- Colour matched to a physical reference. A swatch, a yarn card or an approved sample, then locked to a dye lot per order so the second run matches the first.
- One charged sample before the bulk run. Typically 3–5 days after the brief and artwork, with the fee credited against your first bulk order.
- No customer names. The brands we knit for are not ours to publish, and a supplier who lists them will list you too.
- No needle count printed. The count is quoted per style, and the count on your quotation is the count in the machine that runs your order.
- No OEKO-TEX, GRS or medical-device file under our name. If your market needs one, say so in the brief and the reply says what we can and cannot hold.
- No instant yes on a construction. If the pattern or the shape sits outside this floor, the reply says so.
- No price list. The binding price comes with your specification, colour count and quantity.
- No stock photography. Every product photo on this site was taken in our own building.
Colour references, artwork ownership and samples
How is my brand colour matched?
Against a physical reference you send — a swatch, a yarn card or an approved sample — and then locked to a dye lot per order. A screen colour is not a reference; two monitors disagree and neither is the dyed sock.
Do I get a sample in my branding before bulk?
Yes: a charged physical sample per style, typically 3–5 days after your brief and artwork, with the sampling fee credited against your first bulk order and the courier on you. The approved sample is what the bulk run is knitted against.
What goes on the sock and what goes on the pack?
That is your call and it is two separate lines: the cuff or body mark on the sock, and the label, header card and box on the pack. Both are set on the specification sheet and confirmed on the proforma invoice.
Send the artwork, the chart and the reference
Attach the logo file, the size chart you sell against and a photograph of the colour you want matched. The reply comes back within one working day with the construction we would knit, the MOQ in writing and the sample route.
