Work socks manufacturer: the heavy crew that survives a boot
Work socks are bought by the dozen and judged by wear, not by hand feel. What decides whether a pair lasts a season is the yarn, the sole and the toe.
The construction we knit for this use is a crew sock in a heavy blend, cushioned at the sole and the heel, with a rib cuff that stays above the boot line. Yarn, weight per pair and size band are set on the specification sheet for each order.

What a work sock is
More yarn, a denser knit and two reinforcement points. Each of them moves the price per pair.
Heavy blend
Heavy means more yarn per pair, longer machine time and a higher cost per pair. That is the trade a work-sock buyer is making, and it is worth naming plainly: a lighter sock for warehouse and indoor use costs less and wears out sooner.
Toe and heel
The toe and the heel are where work socks fail. Machine toe linking with a reinforced seam and a reinforced heel are the two operations to ask for by name, and both are approved on the sample before bulk.
Reinforcement
Reinforcement is either a denser knit at the wear points or a second yarn worked in. Both change the price line and both are seen on the sample, so the brief should say which one your tender or your buyer expects.
Sizing
Sizing runs wider than on a fashion sock. Send the band you issue, including any half sizes, plus whether the pairs ship single size or as a mixed carton. Price is not on this page: it comes back on the quotation against your quantity.

Work socks, in one table
| Material | Weight or needle count | Size band | MOQ | Lead time | Customization |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heavy blend, to your brief | Set on the sample | Your issued size band | 1,000 pairs per style | Sampling 3–5 days; bulk 20–30 days | Reinforced heel and toe |
| Yarn confirmed per order | Set on the sample | Your size band, half sizes included | 1,000 pairs per style | Sampling 3–5 days; bulk 20–30 days | Knitted mark, color, mixed carton |
A work sock is quoted against the yarn and the reinforcement you name, which is the ordinary shape of the category: there is no work construction sitting on our published style list for you to point at, and a work order is built from the brief rather than picked off a catalogue page. The MOQ and the timings above are our standing terms and hold for a work order the same way they hold for a listed style.
Weight is not carried as a catalogue figure on any style, and on a work sock it is the figure that matters most, so it is measured rather than claimed: weight per pair in grams, taken on the signed sample and again on pairs pulled from the bulk carton, both recorded against your order number, with the reinforcement stated beside it. Ask for both numbers on the sample sheet and a heavy sock can be compared with a light one on paper. How the yarn and the weight are fixed · the bench tests that predict how a bulk order wears.
On price: this page prints no band, because the site publishes no price list and a work order is priced against yarn and reinforcement rather than off a card. What a bigger run changes is the setup spread — a run at 1,000 pairs and a run at 5,000 pairs do not share the same cost structure, and the size of the drop depends on the style. Send the two quantities you are weighing up and the costing comes back with both on the quotation. What moves a per-pair price.
What buyers ask about this style
How do we compare a heavy sock with a light one?
By weight per pair and by what is reinforced, both taken from the specification sheet rather than from a description of the sock. Ask for both figures on the sample sheet and the comparison stops being a matter of opinion.
Which reinforcements are worth paying for?
A reinforced heel and a reinforced toe on a boot sock, because those are the two places that open first. A denser knit is the simpler route; a second yarn at the wear points adds an operation and lasts longer.
Why is weight per pair not published here?
Because it follows the yarn and the size band, and a number printed on a page would be wrong for the next order. It is measured on the sample you approve and written on the specification sheet that travels with the order.
Do you issue pairs in mixed cartons?
Yes. Mixed cartons are ordinary on an institutional or workwear order. Send the size split per carton and the packing list and the inner labels are built from it, so every following carton repeats the same split before the first shipment leaves.
Send the issued size band
Tell us the band you issue, the reinforcement your buyer expects and the carton split. We reply within one working day.
